Free Entry Level 3 Maths Course in Pickering. Classes run at Atmosphere Centre for Young People, part-time during the day. No exam is required to complete this course, making it a manageable option if you're balancing other commitments. Over 10 weeks, you'll build your maths skills and work toward a recognised maths qualification. You must not already hold an Entry Level 3 or higher maths qualification to be eligible. You'll have an initial assessment to confirm this is the right level for you.
Who this course is for
This course is for people who want to improve their Maths skills and gain a qualification in Maths without having to take an exam.You must not have a current Entry 3 level or higher qualification.
Entry requirements
To be eligible for funding for courses you must be over 19 years of age as at 31st August in the current academic year and not be an apprentice, further eligibility may be linked to where you live and we will check that at
What you will learn
You'll work with whole numbers, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
You'll handle money calculations in everyday contexts.
You'll read and interpret simple charts, tables, and graphs.
You'll use fractions and percentages in practical situations.
You'll measure length, weight, capacity, and time.
You'll solve straightforward maths problems using written and mental methods.
How you will learn
You'll learn through classroom-based sessions at the centre. Assessment is through portfolio-based evidence and coursework rather than a formal exam. Your tutor will guide you through tasks and activities that demonstrate your skills. There is no end exam for this qualification.
