About this course

Free Entry Level 1 English Course in Pickering. Classes run at Atmosphere Centre for Young People during the day, part-time, so you can fit study around other commitments. This course is for adults who want to build their English skills and gain an english qualification without sitting a formal exam. You'll have an initial assessment to confirm Entry Level 1 is the right starting point for you. The course runs for 55 hours in total. You must not already hold an Entry Level 1 or higher English qualification to be eligible.

Entry requirements

To be eligible for funding for courses you must be over 19 years of age as at 31st August in the current academic year and not be an apprentice, further eligibility may be linked to where you live and we will check that at enrolment

You'll learn through classroom activities at Atmosphere Centre for Young People. Learning is assessed through coursework and tasks rather than a formal exam. Your work is collected as evidence throughout the course and assessed against the City and Guilds standard for Entry Level 1 English.
