Free Level 2 Maths Course in Pickering. Classes run at Atmosphere Centre for Young People, part-time during the day. The course runs over 55 hours at a manageable pace, making it easier to fit around other commitments. You'll build your maths skills and gain a recognised maths qualification without sitting a traditional exam. This is a free maths course for adults aged 19 and over who do not already hold a Level 2 or higher maths qualification.
Who this course is for
This course is for people who want to improve their Maths skills and gain a qualification in Maths without having to take an exam.You must not have a current level 2 or higher qualification.
Entry requirements
To be eligible for funding for courses you must be over 19 years of age as at 31st August in the current academic year and not be an apprentice, further eligibility may be linked to where you live and we will check that at
What you will learn
You'll work with numbers, including calculations involving whole numbers, fractions, decimals, and percentages.
You'll interpret and use data presented in charts, tables, and graphs.
You'll solve problems involving measures, shape, and space.
You'll apply maths to everyday situations such as money, time, and measurement.
You'll develop the skills needed to use maths with confidence in work and daily life.
How you will learn
You'll learn through classroom-based sessions at Atmosphere Centre for Young People. Assessment is through portfolio or coursework rather than a formal exam, as confirmed by the provider. Your tutor will guide you through the material in class, and you'll complete tasks and activities that show what you've learned.
