Free Functional Skills Maths Level 2 Course in Saltburn-By-The-Sea. Classes run at Redcar & Cleveland Adult Learning at Temperance Square, Loftus.

It covers the same ground as a GCSE maths equivalent. You'll work through number, fractions, percentages, ratio, measurement, and data. The course is a recognised GCSE maths alternative accepted by employers and colleges. There are no entry requirements. You'll complete a short assessment before you start so you join the right level.

You'll finish with a City and Guilds Functional Skills Qualification in Mathematics at Level 2.

Entry requirements

There are no entry requirements, but we ask all learners to complete a short initial and diagnostic assessment before the course starts so we can enrol you on the right level.

  • You'll calculate percentages and use ratio and proportion.
  • You'll measure and work with shape, space, and scale.
  • You'll read and interpret charts, tables, and graphs.
  • You'll handle data and draw conclusions from it.
  • You'll solve everyday maths problems in work and life contexts.

How you will learn

You'll learn through classroom sessions with a tutor. Learning is practical and based on real tasks. Assessment is by a written exam at the end of the course. The exam is set and marked by City and Guilds. You'll complete a short diagnostic assessment before the course starts so your tutor can plan the right support for you.
