Entry requirements

There are no entry requirements, but we ask all learners to complete a short initial and diagnostic assessment before the course starts so we can enrol you on the right level.

What you will learn

  • You'll work with whole numbers, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • You'll use fractions, decimals, and percentages in everyday contexts.
  • You'll read and interpret charts, tables, and graphs.
  • You'll measure and calculate using length, weight, capacity, and time.
  • You'll solve practical maths problems linked to real situations at work and in daily life.
  • You'll check your answers and explain your methods clearly.

How you will learn

You'll learn in a classroom with a tutor. Sessions are part-time and run during the day. You'll practise maths through tasks and exercises linked to everyday situations. Assessment is by a written exam set by City and Guilds. You'll sit the exam when your tutor is satisfied you're ready.
