Free Entry Level 2 Functional Skills Maths in Pickering. Evening classes run at Atmosphere Centre for Young People, so you can fit study around work or other commitments. Entry requirements

To be eligible for funding for courses you must be over 19 years of age as at 31st August in the current academic year and not be an apprentice, further eligibility may be linked to where you live and we will check that at enrolment stage and may contact

What you will learn

  • You'll work with whole numbers, including counting, ordering, and simple calculations.
  • You'll add, subtract, multiply, and divide using everyday contexts.
  • You'll handle money, including giving change and working out simple totals.
  • You'll read and use basic measures such as length, weight, and time.
  • You'll interpret simple charts, tables, and diagrams.
  • You'll solve straightforward number problems in real everyday situations.

How you will learn

Classes are classroom based at Atmosphere Centre for Young People. You'll learn through tutor-led sessions and practical activities. Assessment for the City and Guilds Functional Skills Qualification in Mathematics (Entry 2) is by a written test. Your tutor will prepare you for this during the course.
