About this course

NOCN Level 2 Painting and Decorating (Construction) Course. Work-based training at your workplace. You train on the job, building skills while you work, with blended support from experienced staff. The course typically takes 3 months. You'll cover surface preparation, paint application, decorative finishing, and the safe use of tools and materials. This painting and decorating (construction) qualification is assessed in your working environment, so everything you learn applies directly to your day-to-day role.

This qualification will provide you with occupational competence and knowledge of Decorative Finishing and Industrial Painting Occupations and/or ‘licence to practice’ as well as evidence to apply for your Blue – Skilled Construction Skills Certification Schemes (CSCS) card.

How you will learn

Training takes place in your workplace, so you're assessed on real tasks in your actual job role. Assessment is work-based and practical, with experienced staff observing your performance and reviewing evidence of your work. Blended support is available, combining on-site mentoring with additional classroom or centre-based sessions where needed. You'll receive individualised support throughout.
