About this course

Level 2 Wood Occupations (Construction) Course. Work-based training at your workplace. You train while you work, building skills directly in your job role. The course covers the practical and technical skills needed in wood occupations on construction sites, and typically takes 3 months. Learning is flexible, combining on-the-job practice with classroom sessions to fit around your work. A level 2 wood occupations (construction) qualification is a recognised step toward a career as a carpenter.

This qualification will provide you with occupational competence and knowledge of Wood Occupations and/or ‘licence to practice’ as well as evidence to apply for your Blue – Skilled Construction Skills Certification Schemes (CSCS) card.

How you will learn

This is a work-based NVQ, so assessment happens in your workplace. An assessor will observe you carrying out real tasks in your job role and review a portfolio of evidence you build over the course. You may also have knowledge-based assessments. Learning combines on-the-job practice with flexible classroom sessions, tailored to your role and your employer's needs.
