About this course

Free Level 3 BTEC National Extended Certificate in Sport Course in Burton-on-Trent. Classes run at Burton Town Centre Campus, full-time over one year.

This BTEC sport course covers anatomy, fitness, sports leadership, performance analysis, and sports coaching. You'll combine practical training with theory, including coaching sessions and competitive football through the EFL Trust National League. The course also gives you access to gym facilities and the chance to train on a 3G pitch. You may have the opportunity to work toward the FA Introduction to Coaching Football qualification too.

You'll finish with a Pearson Edexcel Level 3 BTEC National Extended Certificate in Sport.

Who this course is for

You will study the theoretical aspects of performance analysis, sports coaching and the fitness industry, whilst completing an athletic training programme, including coaching and competition, with Burton Albion Football Club.

Entry requirements

Minimum of 4 GCSEs at Grade C or above (if this does not include English and maths these MUST be studied as part of the Level 3 programme) or Level 2 Functional Skills equivalent in English and maths; successful interview and initial assessment; successful completion of Level 2 programme (progressing learners). Applicants also need to play football to a high standard, and suitability for the programme will be determined by Burton Albion Football Club.

You'll attend daytime classes at Burton Town Centre Campus and use gym facilities at Fleet Street Fitness weekly for delivery, assessment, and personal fitness development.
