Free BTEC Level 1 Sport Course in Burton-on-Trent. Classes run at Burton Town Centre Campus, full-time during the day.

The course covers both sport and public services. In the sport component, you'll develop practical skills, physical fitness, and team-working. In the public services component, you'll learn map reading, expedition skills, and self-discipline. You'll also study basic health, safety, and emergency care. You'll finish with a Pearson Edexcel BTEC Introductory Certificate in Sport.

Who this course is for

This course provides an introduction to Sport and Public Services. You will have the opportunity to explore this area of employment in a practical way. You will develop wellbeing and physical fitness, team working skills, self discipline, map reading and navigation skills, and gain an understanding of basic health, safety and emergency care. There will be plenty of opportunities to participate in sports and adventure activities.

Entry requirements

Minimum of 4 GCSEs at Grade G or above (or Entry 3/Level 1 Functional Skills equivalent in English and maths); successful interview and initial assessment; successful completion of Entry Level programme (progressing learners).
