About this course

Level 2 Principles of End of Life Care Course. Study online at your own pace, fitting learning around your work and personal life. Funding may be available for this course, so it is worth checking your eligibility before you apply.

The course covers four units. You will explore attitudes to death and dying, approaches to end of life care, and the support services available. You will also study person-centred care planning, managing pain and discomfort, and the specific needs of people living with dementia. The course takes around 16 weeks to complete.

You will finish with a TQUK Level 2 Certificate in Principles of End of Life Care.

Who this course is for

This qualification aims to help you identify, develop and formally recognise your knowledge and skills surrounding the care of patients, friends and families during this sensitive and emotionally demanding time of life.

It is ideal if you are already working in, or intending to work within, the healthcare or social care sector.

Entry requirements

There are no formal entry requirements but you must be aged 19+.

Please note: All students will need to complete an Initial Assessment before being enrolled onto the course.

How you will learn

The course is delivered entirely online, so you study in your own time. You work through four units covering end of life care knowledge and skills. Assessment is based on written tasks completed online. Before you start, you will complete an initial assessment to confirm the course is the right level for you.
