
This qualification aims to equip you with a detailed understanding of the concepts of health and well-being, including basic anatomy and physiology.
You will learn about the role of nutrition in exercise, including energy requirements and fluid replacement, and then learn about how to measure personal fitness levels and create a personal programme of exercise and nutrition.
There are no formal entry requirements but you must be aged 19+.
Please note: All students will need to complete an Initial Assessment before being enrolled onto the course.

This personal exercise, health and nutrition qualification can lead to further study in related areas. Nottingham College offers progression onto nutrition-focused courses such as a Nutrition, Health and Food Awareness qualification. You could also move on to a Level 3 Certificate in Personal Training or a Level 3 Diploma in Fitness Instructing and Personal Training, which are the qualifications needed to work as a qualified personal trainer.
