Free Functional Skills Maths Level 2 in Selby. Evening maths classes run at Selby Adult Learning and Skills Service, so you can fit study around work or other commitments. This level 2 functional skills maths course runs over 18 weeks part-time. It covers the maths skills employers look for, from working with numbers and data to solving everyday problems. When employers ask for GCSE maths or equivalent, a functional skills maths qualification at Level 2 meets that requirement.

This course is for anyone aged 19 or over.
No previous experience is required. Basic IT skills are essential.

What you will learn
You'll work with whole numbers, fractions, decimals, and percentages.
You'll interpret and use data presented in tables, charts, and graphs.
You'll apply maths to solve problems in everyday and work-based contexts.
You'll use ratio, proportion, and scale in practical situations.
You'll measure and work with shape, space, and units of measurement.
You'll check your own calculations and identify errors in working.
How you will learn
You'll learn through classroom-based sessions at Selby Adult Learning and Skills Service, with a mix of teacher-led explanation, worked examples, and practice tasks. Assessment is by a written external exam set by City and Guilds. You'll sit the exam when you and your tutor agree you're ready. There is also an initial assessment at the start to confirm Level 2 is the right level for you and to help plan your learning.
