Free Functional Skills Maths Level 2 in Selby. Classes run at Selby Adult Learning and Skills Service on a part-time daytime timetable, making it easier to fit around caring responsibilities or other commitments. To be eligible for funding for courses you must be over 19 years of age as at 31st August in the current academic year and not be an apprentice, further eligibility may be linked to where you live and we will check that at enrolment stage and may contact

  • You'll use ratios and proportion to solve practical problems.
  • You'll interpret and construct charts, tables, and graphs.
  • You'll calculate with measures including money, time, length, weight, and volume.
  • You'll apply statistical methods to analyse and compare data.
  • You'll use formulae and simple algebra to solve problems.
  • You'll check your working and present solutions clearly.

How you will learn

You'll learn through classroom-based sessions at Selby Adult Learning and Skills Service. Assessment is by a written external exam set and marked by City and Guilds. There is no coursework portfolio. You'll sit the exam when your tutor confirms you're ready, and you must pass to receive the qualification.
