Free Entry Level 3 Maths Course in Selby. Classes run at Selby Adult Learning and Skills Service, part-time during the day. The course runs for 10 weeks at a manageable pace, covering practical maths skills without a formal exam. You must not already hold an Entry Level 3 or higher maths qualification, and you need to be aged 19 or over.
Who this course is for
This course is for people who want to improve their Maths skills and gain a qualification in Maths without having to take an exam.You must not have a current Entry 3 level or higher qualification.
Entry requirements
To be eligible for funding for courses you must be over 19 years of age as at 31st August in the current academic year and not be an apprentice, further eligibility may be linked to where you live and we will check that at
What you will learn
You'll work with whole numbers, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
You'll handle fractions and percentages in everyday contexts.
You'll read and interpret simple charts, tables, and graphs.
You'll use measures such as length, weight, capacity, and time.
You'll solve straightforward maths problems using familiar situations.
You'll check and correct your own calculations.
How you will learn
You'll learn through classroom-based sessions at Selby Adult Learning and Skills Service. Assessment is through portfolio-based tasks and coursework rather than a formal exam. Your work is assessed as you go, so there is no end-of-course exam to sit.
