Free Entry Level 2 Functional Skills Maths in Selby. Evening classes run at Selby Adult Learning and Skills Service, so you can fit study around work or other commitments. You'll build your maths skills across number, measures, and handling data. The course runs for 18 weeks part-time. An initial assessment confirms this is the right level for you, and the centre will use it to plan your learning. To be eligible for funding for courses you must be over 19 years of age as at 31st August in the current academic year and not be an apprentice, further eligibility may be linked to where you live and we will check that at enrolment stage and may contact
What you will learn
You'll work with whole numbers, including counting, ordering, and simple calculations.
You'll add and subtract using everyday contexts such as money and time.
You'll understand and use simple fractions and recognise basic percentages.
You'll read and use common measurements, including length, weight, and capacity.
You'll interpret simple charts, tables, and graphs.
You'll solve straightforward maths problems using the skills above.
How you will learn
Classes are classroom based at Selby Adult Learning and Skills Service. You'll learn through tutor-led sessions and practice activities. Assessment is by a written test set by City and Guilds. You'll sit the test when your tutor confirms you're ready. There is no coursework portfolio for this qualification.
