Free Entry Level 3 Functional Skills Maths in Pickering. Classes run at Atmosphere Centre for Young People. Daytime sessions run part-time over 18 weeks, so you can fit study around other commitments. This entry level functional skills maths course covers everyday number skills: working with whole numbers, fractions, decimals, percentages, and basic measures. Functional Skills Maths Level 2 is the recognised GCSE maths equivalent that many employers ask for, and Entry Level 3 is the step that leads there. You'll sit an assessment at the end.

This course is for people who want to improve their Maths skills and who currently, do not hold a current Entry Level 3 or higher qualification

To be eligible for funding for courses you must be over 19 years of age as at 31st August in the current academic year and not be an apprentice, further eligibility may be linked to where you live and we will check that at enrolment stage and may contact
What you will learn
You'll work with whole numbers, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
You'll understand and use simple fractions and decimals in everyday contexts.
You'll read and interpret straightforward charts, tables, and graphs.
You'll use basic measures such as length, weight, capacity, and time.
You'll handle money calculations, including giving change and working out costs.
You'll solve practical maths problems set in real everyday situations.
How you will learn
You'll learn in a classroom at Atmosphere Centre for Young People, with a tutor guiding each session. Learning is built around practical, everyday maths tasks. Assessment is through a written test set by City and Guilds. You'll need to pass that test to earn your certificate. Your tutor will prepare you for it throughout the course.
