Free Entry Level 3 Functional Skills Maths in Malton. Classes run at Malton Adult Learning and Skills Service, part-time during the day, making it manageable alongside other commitments. Over 18 weeks, you'll build the maths skills needed for everyday life and work. This is a free functional skills maths course for adults who don't yet hold an Entry Level 3 maths qualification or above. You'll have an initial assessment to confirm the level is right for you. The centre will use it to plan your learning.

Entry requirements
To be eligible for funding for courses you must be over 19 years of age as at 31st August in the current academic year and not be an apprentice, further eligibility may be linked to where you live and we will check that at enrolment stage and may contact
What you will learn
You'll work with whole numbers, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
You'll understand and use simple fractions and percentages.
You'll read, interpret, and use straightforward data from tables, charts, and diagrams.
You'll solve practical maths problems set in everyday contexts.
You'll use and compare measures including length, weight, capacity, and time.
You'll handle money calculations and check answers for reasonableness.
How you will learn
You'll learn through classroom sessions at Malton Adult Learning and Skills Service. Assessment is through a formal written test set and marked by City and Guilds. You'll need to pass the test to earn your certificate. Your tutor will work through topics with you in class and give you practice tasks to build your skills before the assessment.
