Level 3 Mechanical Manufacturing Engineering. Work-based training at your workplace.

You train in your job role over two years. The course covers manual and CNC machining, including milling, turning, and grinding. You'll also study fitting and assembly, component repair, and pipe fitting. It suits roles across machining, manufacturing, and pipe fitting work. No prior qualifications are required. You must be in a suitable workplace role.

You'll finish with an NVQ Diploma in Mechanical Manufacturing Engineering.

Who this course is for

Candidates wishing to demonstrate complex understanding of mechanical manufacturing techniques to include manual setting and manual or CNC machining using methods such as milling, turning, grinding and many more. Fitting and assembly of various components to mechanical assemblies, and repairing these, as well as pipe fitting and assembly. The qualification is applicable to a variety of machining and manufacturing occupations and covers Manual/CNC, manufacturing, pipe fitting, spring making and tool setting depending on the pathway chosen.

Entry requirements

The candidate must be in a role within the workplace that will support the qualification requirements and must have the potential to achieve the assessment criteria set out in the units.

There are no entry qualifications required by learners to undertake this qualification unless this is a legal requirement of the process or the environment
