Free Entry Level 3 English Skills course in Selby. Classes run at Selby Adult Learning and Skills Service during the day, part-time, making it manageable alongside caring responsibilities or other commitments. You'll build your reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills without sitting a traditional exam. The course runs for 55 hours in total. To join, you'll have an initial assessment to confirm this is the right level for you. You must not already hold an Entry Level 3 or higher English qualification.

Entry requirements
To be eligible for funding for courses you must be over 19 years of age as at 31st August in the current academic year and not be an apprentice, further eligibility may be linked to where you live and we will check that at enrolment

You'll read and understand everyday texts, including letters, forms, and simple articles.
You'll write clearly for everyday purposes such as messages, notes, and short documents.
You'll improve your spelling, punctuation, and grammar at Entry Level 3.
You'll listen and respond in everyday conversations and discussions.
You'll speak clearly to share information and express your views.
How you will learn
You'll learn through classroom-based sessions at Selby Adult Learning and Skills Service. The course is assessed through portfolio work and tasks rather than a traditional exam, so you demonstrate your skills through practical activities completed during your studies.
