Free Entry Level 3 English Skills course in Selby. Evening classes run at Selby Adult Learning and Skills Service, so you can fit study around your week. This is an entry level english skills course for adults who want to build their reading, writing, and communication skills and gain a recognised english skills qualification without sitting a traditional exam. The course runs for 55 hours part-time. You'll need an initial assessment to confirm Entry Level 3 is the right starting point for you. Note: you must not already hold an Entry Level 3 or higher English qualification.

This course is for people who want to improve their English skills gain a qualification in English without having to take an exam.You must not have a current Entry 3 level or higher qualification.
Entry requirements
To be eligible for funding for courses you must be over 19 years of age as at 31st August in the current academic year and not be an apprentice, further eligibility may be linked to where you live and we will check that at enrolment
What you will learn
You'll read and understand everyday texts, including letters, forms, and simple instructions.
You'll write clearly for everyday purposes such as messages, notes, and short documents.
You'll spell common words accurately and use basic punctuation.
You'll listen and respond in straightforward conversations and discussions.
You'll speak clearly to communicate information and ask questions.
You'll identify the main points in spoken and written English.
How you will learn
Classes are classroom based and run in the evening at Selby Adult Learning and Skills Service. You'll learn through a mix of group activities, guided tasks, and practice exercises. Assessment is portfolio based rather than a formal exam, so you build evidence of your skills through the work you do during the course.
