Free Entry Level 2 English Course in Pickering. Classes run at Atmosphere Centre for Young People during the day, part-time, so you can fit study around other commitments. This course is for adults who want to build their English skills and gain an english qualification without sitting a formal exam. You'll have an initial assessment at enrolment to confirm this is the right level for you. The course runs for 55 hours in total. You'll finish with a City and Guilds Certificate in English Skills (Entry 2), an entry level english certificate that shows employers and colleges what you can do.
Who this course is for
This course is for people who want to improve their English skills gain a qualification in English without having to take an exam.You must not have a current Entry 2 level or higher qualification.
Entry requirements
To be eligible for funding for courses you must be over 19 years of age as at 31st August in the current academic year and not be an apprentice, further eligibility may be linked to where you live and we will check that at enrolment
What you will learn
You'll read and understand everyday texts, signs, and written information.
You'll write simple sentences and short pieces of text clearly and accurately.
You'll practise spelling, punctuation, and basic grammar.
You'll listen to and understand spoken English in everyday situations.
You'll speak clearly and take part in simple conversations and discussions.
How you will learn
You'll learn through classroom activities, group work, and practice tasks. Assessment is portfolio-based, so your work is collected and reviewed throughout the course rather than in a single exam. This means you're assessed on what you produce during your learning, not on one high-pressure test.
