Free Entry Level 2 English Course in Northallerton. Evening english classes run at Skipton Adult Learning & Skills Service, so you can study around your existing commitments. The course covers reading, writing, speaking, and listening at Entry Level 2. It runs for 55 hours part-time. You'll work toward your qualification through portfolio-based tasks rather than a formal exam. The provider notes you must not already hold an Entry Level 2 or higher English qualification. You'll need to be aged 19 or over to access funded places.
Who this course is for
This course is for people who want to improve their English skills gain a qualification in English without having to take an exam.You must not have a current Entry 2 level or higher qualification.
Entry requirements
To be eligible for funding for courses you must be over 19 years of age as at 31st August in the current academic year and not be an apprentice, further eligibility may be linked to where you live and we will check that at enrolment

You'll develop your reading skills to understand everyday texts and documents.
You'll practise writing clearly for common purposes such as messages, notes, and forms.
You'll build your speaking and listening skills for everyday conversations and situations.
You'll learn to use basic grammar, punctuation, and spelling more accurately.
You'll work with texts relevant to daily life, work, and your local community.
How you will learn
You'll learn through classroom-based sessions in the evening. Assessment is through a portfolio of work rather than a formal exam. You'll complete tasks and activities during the course that build your portfolio as you go. Your tutor will guide you through each stage and give feedback on your progress.
