Free Entry Level 2 English Course in Ripon. Evening english classes run at Ripon Community House Ripon, so you can fit study around work or other commitments. You'll build reading, writing, and communication skills at Entry Level 2. The course runs over 55 hours part-time. No exam is required to gain your english qualification. You'll have an initial assessment at enrolment to confirm this is the right level for you.

This course is for people who want to improve their English skills gain a qualification in English without having to take an exam.You must not have a current Entry 2 level or higher qualification.
Entry requirements
To be eligible for funding for courses you must be over 19 years of age as at 31st August in the current academic year and not be an apprentice, further eligibility may be linked to where you live and we will check that at enrolment

You'll read and understand everyday texts such as letters, notices, and simple instructions.
You'll write short pieces of text for everyday purposes, including notes and messages.
You'll use basic punctuation, spelling, and sentence structure in your writing.
You'll listen and respond to straightforward spoken information.

You'll identify the main points from short documents and conversations.
How you will learn
Classes are classroom based and run in the evenings at Ripon Community House Ripon. Learning is assessed through portfolio-based tasks and practical activities rather than a formal exam. You'll complete written and spoken tasks that reflect everyday English use, and your progress will be assessed throughout the course.
