Entry requirements

To be eligible for funding for courses you must be over 19 years of age as at 31st August in the current academic year and not be an apprentice, further eligibility may be linked to where you live and we will check that at enrolment

  • You'll write short pieces of text for everyday purposes, including notes and messages.
  • You'll use basic punctuation, spelling, and sentence structure in your writing.
  • You'll listen and respond to spoken information in familiar situations.
  • You'll speak clearly to communicate information and ask simple questions.

How you will learn

You'll learn in a classroom at Catterick Library & Information Centre during evening sessions. Learning is practical and task-based, covering reading, writing, speaking, and listening. Assessment is through a portfolio of work you build up during the course. There is no written exam.
