Level 2 Beauty Therapy Course in Poole. Classes run at Skills and Learning Adult Community Education on Wednesdays and Thursdays, 9:30 to 15:00. The course runs over 32 weeks, giving you time to build practical skills alongside other commitments. No previous experience in beauty therapy is needed. You'll cover facials, waxing, manicure and pedicure, make-up, eyelash and eyebrow treatments, nail art, and eyelash lifting. These are the core skills employers look for in beauty therapy roles.

Who this course is for

We have designed this course to support you with working in the beauty sector. Successful completion of this course will provide skills and knowledge required for job roles in Beauty Therapy. No previous experience of Beauty Therapy is necessary, although you may find it useful to have completed a Level 1 course in Beauty Therapy or have some experience of the subject.

English language and /or maths skills at Level 1/Level 2 are required. There is an expectation that if you enrol on this course, you are willing to commit fully to the period of time involved in this course, the associated home study and the assessed work required, and intend to sit the examination if applicable.

What you will learn

  • You'll carry out facial treatments, including skin analysis and product application.
  • You'll perform waxing treatments on different areas of the body.
  • You'll apply make-up for a range of occasions and skin types.
  • You'll provide manicure and pedicure treatments.
  • You'll create nail art designs.
  • You'll carry out eyelash and eyebrow treatments, including tinting and shaping.
  • You'll perform eyelash lifting treatments.

How you will learn

You'll learn through practical, hands-on sessions in a salon-style environment. Assessment is a mix of practical observation, where an assessor watches you carry out treatments, and knowledge-based tasks. You'll need to demonstrate each treatment to the required standard. Classes run in a classroom-based setting at the centre, two days a week.
