About this course

Level 3 Hairdressing Course in Poole. Classes run at Skills & Learning Adult Community Education, two days a week from 09:30 to 15:00. You may be eligible for an Advanced Learning Loan to help with costs. The course runs for 31 weeks and develops your practical hairdressing skills to an advanced level. No previous experience is required. You'll work through a range of techniques to prepare for employment in the hair sector.

We have designed this course to support you with working in the hair sector. Successful completion of this course will provide skills and knowledge required for job roles in hairdressing. No previous experience is necessary, although you may find it useful to have some experience of the subject.

English language and /or maths skills at Level 1/Level 2 are required. You may be asked to complete an online assessment in English (and maths if applicable) prior to submitting a course application or as part of an admission session. There is an expectation that if you enrol on this course, you are willing to commit fully to the period of time involved in this course, the associated home study and the assessed work required, and intend to sit the examination if applicable.

What you will learn

  • You'll understand salon health, safety, and hygiene requirements.

How you will learn

You'll learn through practical, hands-on sessions in a classroom setting, two days a week. Assessment is through a combination of practical observations and knowledge-based tasks. You'll be assessed on your ability to carry out hairdressing techniques to the standard required by the VTCT Diploma in Women's Hairdressing.
