About this course

ILM Level 3 Leadership and Management Training. Work-based training at your workplace. You study while you stay in your role, building a portfolio from the work you already do. The course takes around three months to complete.

You'll cover the core skills of day-to-day people leadership. Topics include motivating a team, communicating with colleagues, planning and prioritising workloads, and solving problems in a leadership context. Around 40 hours of guided study supports the portfolio work. No formal entry requirements apply. VQ Solutions will confirm your role gives you the workplace evidence you need.

You'll finish with a City and Guilds Level 3 Award in Leadership and Management Skills.

This short, practical course is ideal if you’re an aspiring leader, supervisor, team leader or first-line manager who wants to build real confidence in day-to-day people leadership. It’s designed for busy people already in (or moving into) a leadership role who want recognised City & Guilds ILM skills without pausing their working week. You’ll turn the work you already do into a valued qualification and start building a professional development story you can use in reviews, interviews and promotions.

Entry requirements

There are no formal entry requirements. The course is open to anyone aged 16 or over who has the opportunity to gather workplace evidence. VQ Solutions will confirm you’re in a suitable role (or realistic working environment) so you can successfully complete the portfolio.

VQ Solutions provides access to Leader Study Pro and all learning materials to support your portfolio building throughout the course.
