ILM Level 3 Leadership and Management Training. Work-based training at your workplace. You study while working in a leadership or management role, building your portfolio from real tasks and responsibilities.

The course covers leading people, managing performance, handling change, and communicating effectively. It typically takes around nine months to complete. There are no formal entry requirements, though you'll need to be in a suitable role to gather workplace evidence.

You'll finish with a City and Guilds Diploma in Leadership and Management Skills.

This course is ideal if you’re a team leader, supervisor, first-line manager or emerging manager who wants comprehensive, recognised leadership and management skills. It’s designed for people ready to deepen their practical ability in leading people, managing performance, handling change and communicating effectively. The Diploma gives you greater depth and flexibility than the Award or Certificate, while still fitting around a busy working life.

Entry requirements

There are no formal entry requirements. The course is open to anyone aged 16 or over who has the opportunity to gather workplace evidence. VQ Solutions will confirm you’re in a suitable role (or realistic working environment) so you can successfully complete the portfolio.
