Free Level 2 The Children and Young People's Workforce Course. Work-based training at your workplace. You study while working in an early years or childcare setting, building knowledge of child development from birth to age seven. The course covers personal learning and thinking skills, employment rights and responsibilities, and includes Functional Skills in English and maths. It typically takes 15 months to complete. You'll have an initial assessment to make sure the level 2 the children and young people's workforce qualification is the right fit, and to plan your learning from there.
Who this course is for
this course is designed for you if you are just entering into the Early Years Environment and have little to no knowledge. This will give you a good start and grounding and help to progress you on to a Level 3.

You will be required to take some initial assessments and asked a few questions from our Training Advisers, this is to ensure you do place you on the correct course
What you will learn
You'll develop knowledge of child development from birth to seven years old.
You'll understand how to support children's learning and wellbeing in an early years setting.
You'll learn about safeguarding and the responsibilities that come with working with children.
You'll cover employment rights and responsibilities relevant to the children and young people's workforce.
You'll build personal learning and thinking skills to support your professional practice.
You'll work toward Functional Skills in English and maths if required.
How you will learn
This is work-based training. You learn on the job in your early years or childcare setting, supported throughout by a skills coach. Assessment is carried out in the workplace, drawing on your day-to-day practice. The course also includes Functional Skills support in English and maths where needed. You are not required to attend a classroom.
What you will need to bring
The centre will provide most materials. Parenta Training will confirm anything else you need before you start.
