About this course
Level 2 The Children and Young People's Workforce Course. Work-based training at your workplace. You study while working in a childcare setting, building skills directly through your day-to-day role. The course covers child and young person development, early years principles, promoting wellbeing and resilience, and supporting children's educational potential. It typically takes 15 months to complete. You'll have an initial assessment before your place is confirmed, to make sure the level is right for you.

This qualification provides the skills and experience to develop your career in child care in a wide range of settings. Areas covered include Understanding child and young person development, Context and principles for early years provision, Promoting the well being and resilience of children and young people and Supporting children and young people to achieve their education potential.
Entry requirements
There are no formal entry requirements although candidates should have the ability to manage the requirements of the level of the qualification; candidates will be required to undertake the Initial Assessments before confirmation of place on course.
