Free Level 2 Information, Advice or Guidance Course. Study online at your own pace, fitting learning around your work and home life. This free information, advice or guidance course is open to adults aged 19 or over who live in the North Yorkshire or Tees Valley area. You'll need the right to live and work in the UK and to have lived in the UK or EU continuously for the three years before you start. The course takes around 3 months to complete. It covers the skills and knowledge used in advice, guidance, and support roles across a range of settings.

What you will learn
You'll understand the roles and responsibilities of an information, advice or guidance worker.
You'll learn how to communicate clearly and professionally with clients.
You'll explore how to signpost and refer clients to appropriate services.
You'll develop skills in listening and questioning to identify client needs.
You'll understand boundaries and confidentiality in an advice or guidance setting.
You'll learn how to support clients in making informed decisions.
You'll recognise equality, diversity, and inclusion in guidance work.
How you will learn
You'll study online and complete written assignments or portfolio-based tasks to demonstrate your knowledge. Assessment is based on evidence you build up throughout the course. There are no exams. You submit work online and receive feedback from your assessor. Learning is self-paced, so you can work through the material at times that suit you.
