Free Level 2 Information, Advice or Guidance Course. Study online. You work through the course at your own pace, so it fits around your existing commitments. The course takes around 10 weeks to complete. You'll cover the principles behind giving accurate, ethical guidance, how to communicate effectively with individuals, and how to handle confidentiality and impartiality. Units include signposting and referral, developing interaction skills, and managing information. This free information, advice or guidance course for adults is open to learners aged 19 or over who meet the eligibility criteria.
Who this course is for
Our Information, Advice or Guidance (IAG) free online course will support you to offer clear and accurate information, advice or guidance and knowing what can be shared legally and professionally, can greatly improve outcomes for a business. There are some fundamental rules for successful information sharing and ensuring staff are aware of these is key.
Entry requirements
Aged 19+ as of 31st August 2024. Lived in the EU for 3 years. Available fully funded. Do not hold the same qualification.
What you will learn
You'll explain the core principles of information, advice or guidance and how they apply across different settings.

How you will learn
There are no exams. You'll be assessed through written assignments and portfolio-based evidence linked to each unit. All study and assessment takes place online. The five units cover IAG in practice, interaction skills, signposting and referral, context, and managing information. You complete work at your own pace within the 10-week course.

The centre will provide most materials. CT Skills will confirm anything else you need before you start.
