This free information, advice or guidance course for adults fits around your existing commitments, with no need to travel to a centre. It builds your knowledge of how to give effective information, advice, and guidance to others, supporting the work you already do in a helping or advisory role. The course is open to learners aged 19 or over.

This qualification is aimed at learners who are looking to expand their knowledge in this area as an addional qualification to support their role.
Entry requirements
To be eligible for funding for courses you must be over 19 years of age as at 31st August in the current academic year and not be an apprentice,further eligibility may be linked to where you live and your individual income.

You'll learn how to record and report interactions in line with organisational requirements.
How you will learn
You'll study online, working through course materials at a pace that suits you. Assessment is through written assignments and portfolio evidence that you submit online. There are no formal exams. You'll demonstrate your knowledge by applying it to realistic scenarios drawn from information, advice, and guidance settings.

The centre will provide most materials. Northallerton Adult Learning and Skills Service will confirm anything else you need before you start.
