About this course

Free Level 2 Beauty Therapy Course in Hammersmith and Fulham. Classes run at Hammersmith & Fulham College, full-time during the day. The course runs for one year and covers the core treatments professional beauty therapists carry out: skincare and facials, waxing, eyelash and eyebrow treatments, make-up application, and manicure and pedicure. You'll work in the college's on-site salon, practising on real clients. To enrol, you'll need four GCSEs at grade 4 or above (including English and maths), or Functional Skills Level 1 in English and maths, or a relevant Level 1 course.

You should have:

Four GCSEs atgrade 4 or above, including English and maths at grade 4 or Functional Skills Level 1 qualifications or A relevant Level 1 course,Functional Skills Level 1 in English and maths or ESOL at Level 1.

At enrolment, you will have an interview with our course tutors to ensure the course is right for you.

You may also need to complete an initial assessment in English and maths, depending on your grades.

What you will learn

  • You'll carry out facial treatments and skin analysis, and give clients personalised skincare advice.
  • You'll shape, tint, and enhance eyelashes and eyebrows using professional techniques.
  • You'll perform waxing treatments safely, from eyebrow shaping to full body waxing.
  • You'll apply make-up professionally across a range of looks and skin tones.
  • You'll carry out manicure and pedicure treatments, including nail painting and hand and foot care.
  • You'll learn how to consult with clients and adapt treatments to their individual needs.

How you will learn

You'll learn through hands-on practical sessions in the college's on-site salon, working with clients to build your treatment skills. Assessment is practical and knowledge-based, reflecting the VTCT Diploma structure. You'll have an interview with course tutors at enrolment, and may complete an initial assessment in English and maths. Excellent attendance is expected throughout the course.
