Free Level 1 Maths Course in Malton. Classes run at Malton Adult Learning and Skills Service. This is a no-exam route to a maths qualification, assessed through coursework rather than a sit-down test. Daytime sessions run part-time over 55 hours, making it manageable alongside other commitments. You'll build on everyday maths skills across number, measure, and data. To be eligible, you must be 19 or over and must not already hold a Level 1 or higher maths qualification.

This course is for people who want to improve their Maths skills and gain a qualification in Maths without having to take an exam.You must not have a current level 1 or higher qualification.
Entry requirements
To be eligible for funding for courses you must be over 19 years of age as at 31st August in the current academic year and not be an apprentice, further eligibility may be linked to where you live and we will check that at
What you will learn
You'll work with whole numbers, fractions, decimals, and percentages.
You'll use measurements and handle units of length, weight, and capacity.
You'll read and interpret charts, tables, and graphs.
You'll solve practical maths problems in everyday contexts.
You'll check and correct your own calculations.
How you will learn
You'll learn in a classroom at Malton Adult Learning and Skills Service, attending part-time during the day. There is no exam. Assessment is through coursework and tasks completed during the course. Your tutor will guide you through the work and give feedback as you progress.
