Free Functional Skills Maths Level 1 in Pickering. Evening classes run at Atmosphere Centre for Young People, so you can fit study around your week. The course runs for 18 weeks part-time. It covers the maths skills used in everyday life and work, from number and fractions to problem-solving with data. A level 1 functional skills maths qualification sits one step below the GCSE maths equivalent standard. You'll have an initial assessment to confirm this is the right level for you.

How you will learn
You'll learn through classroom sessions at Atmosphere Centre for Young People. Teaching covers both the underpinning skills and their practical application. Assessment is by a written external exam set by City and Guilds. You'll need to pass both a skills check and the final exam to earn your certificate.
