We have a variety of levels available to study, starting form entry level 1, all of the way through to level 2. This allows for individuals to gain an accredited qualification in this area, to support personal development and career pathways.

Live in a Tees Valley Postcode
Not in any other form of funded training
Must meet all residency criteria to access funded training.
What you will learn
You'll read and understand different types of texts, including everyday documents and information.
You'll write clearly for different purposes, such as emails, letters, and short reports.
You'll use correct grammar, punctuation, and spelling in your writing.
You'll listen carefully and respond appropriately in spoken conversations.
You'll speak clearly and confidently to share information and ideas.
You'll identify the main points and purpose in written and spoken material.
How you will learn
Learning is blended. You'll study some material online in your own time, and attend daytime sessions at Biz Hub Middlesbrough for taught input and practice. Assessment is through set tasks covering reading, writing, and speaking and listening. You'll complete these tasks as part of the course, and they are marked against the NCFE Functional Skills standard for Level 1.
