Free Entry Level 3 Maths Course in Catterick Garrison. Evening maths classes run at Catterick Library & Information Centre, so you can fit study around work or other commitments. The course runs over 10 weeks, part-time. You'll build your maths skills and gain a maths qualification without sitting a formal exam. To be eligible, you must be 19 or over (as at 31 August in the current academic year) and must not already hold an Entry Level 3 or higher maths qualification.

Entry requirements

To be eligible for funding for courses you must be over 19 years of age as at 31st August in the current academic year and not be an apprentice, further eligibility may be linked to where you live and we will check that at

What you will learn

  • You'll work with whole numbers, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • You'll handle money calculations in everyday contexts.
  • You'll read and interpret simple charts, tables, and graphs.
  • You'll work with fractions and percentages at Entry Level 3.
  • You'll measure length, weight, capacity, and time.
  • You'll solve straightforward number problems step by step.

How you will learn

Classes are held in person at Catterick Library & Information Centre. You'll learn through classroom activities and practice tasks rather than a formal written exam. Assessment is based on portfolio evidence and practical tasks completed during the course, so your progress is recorded as you go.
