Free Entry Level 3 Maths Course in Northallerton. Classes run at Richmond Adult Learning and Skills Service, part-time during the day, so you can fit study around other commitments. Entry requirements

To be eligible for funding for courses you must be over 19 years of age as at 31st August in the current academic year and not be an apprentice, further eligibility may be linked to where you live and we will check that at

What you will learn

  • You'll work with whole numbers, including counting, ordering, and simple calculations.
  • You'll add, subtract, multiply, and divide using everyday contexts.
  • You'll read and interpret simple charts, tables, and graphs.
  • You'll work with basic fractions and percentages.
  • You'll use measurements for length, weight, capacity, and time.
  • You'll handle money and work out simple costs and change.
  • You'll solve straightforward maths problems in practical, real-life situations.

How you will learn

You'll learn in a classroom at Richmond Adult Learning and Skills Service, working through topics with a tutor and other learners. Assessment is through coursework and portfolio evidence, not a final exam. There are no timed tests to sit. Your tutor will track your progress through the tasks and activities you complete during the course.
