Free Entry Level 3 Maths Course in Northallerton. Evening classes run at Richmond Adult Learning and Skills Service, so you can fit study around work or other commitments. Entry requirements

To be eligible for funding for courses you must be over 19 years of age as at 31st August in the current academic year and not be an apprentice, further eligibility may be linked to where you live and we will check that at

What you will learn

  • You'll work with whole numbers, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • You'll handle money and calculate with decimals in everyday contexts.
  • You'll read and use simple fractions.
  • You'll measure length, weight, capacity, and temperature using standard units.
  • You'll read and interpret simple charts, tables, and graphs.
  • You'll work with time, including reading timetables and calculating durations.
  • You'll solve practical maths problems set in real everyday situations.

How you will learn

Classes are held in a classroom setting on weekday evenings. You'll be assessed through coursework and portfolio tasks rather than a formal exam. There is no end-of-course exam for this qualification. You'll complete tasks and activities that show your maths skills across the topics covered. Before you start, you'll have an initial assessment to confirm Entry Level 3 is the right level for you.
