About this course

Free Entry Level 2 Functional Skills Maths in Catterick Garrison. Evening classes run at Catterick Library & Information Centre, so you can fit study around work or other commitments. Entry requirements

To be eligible for funding for courses you must be over 19 years of age as at 31st August in the current academic year and not be an apprentice, further eligibility may be linked to where you live and we will check that at enrolment stage and may contact

What you will learn

  • You'll work with whole numbers, including counting, ordering, and simple calculations.
  • You'll add, subtract, multiply, and divide using everyday contexts.
  • You'll handle money, including working out costs and giving change.
  • You'll read and use simple measurements of length, weight, capacity, and time.
  • You'll interpret basic data from tables, charts, and diagrams.
  • You'll solve straightforward maths problems in real everyday situations.

How you will learn

Classes are delivered in a classroom at Catterick Library & Information Centre. You'll learn through practical tasks and exercises linked to everyday situations. Assessment is through a written test set and marked by City and Guilds. You'll need to pass the test to earn your certificate. Your tutor will track your progress throughout the course and prepare you for the assessment.
