Free Entry Level 2 Functional Skills Maths in Northallerton. Evening classes run at Richmond Adult Learning and Skills Service, so you can fit study around work or other commitments. The course runs over 18 weeks part-time. You'll build practical maths skills covering number, measure, and handling data at Entry Level 2. To be eligible for funding for courses you must be over 19 years of age as at 31st August in the current academic year and not be an apprentice, further eligibility may be linked to where you live and we will check that at enrolment stage and may contact
What you will learn
You'll work with whole numbers, including counting, ordering, and simple calculations.
You'll add, subtract, multiply, and divide using everyday contexts.
You'll handle money, including working out change and simple budgets.
You'll read and use simple measurements for length, weight, capacity, and time.
You'll interpret basic data from tables, charts, and diagrams.
You'll solve straightforward maths problems using the skills above.
How you will learn
Classes are classroom based, with a tutor guiding you through each topic. You'll practise skills through exercises and everyday tasks. Assessment is by a formal written test set by City and Guilds. You'll sit the test when your tutor confirms you're ready. There is no coursework portfolio for this qualification.
