What you will learn
You'll read and understand everyday texts, including signs, forms, and short documents.
You'll write clearly for everyday purposes, such as messages, notes, and simple letters.
You'll spell and punctuate common words correctly.
You'll listen and respond in straightforward conversations and discussions.
You'll speak clearly to give and receive information in familiar situations.
You'll identify the main points in spoken and written material.
How you will learn
You'll learn in a classroom at Harrogate Civic Centre, with a tutor guiding each session. Learning is hands-on and practical, using everyday texts and real tasks. Assessment is through a set task and a reading and writing test, completed when you're ready. Speaking and listening is assessed separately, usually during class activities.
