Entry requirements

There are no formal entry requirements. You'll have a short assessment before you start to see which is the right level of course for you

The course is free if you are: Unemployed or you are employed and earn less than £25,750 annual gross salary

Learners must be aged 19 or over from 1st August of the Academic Year for which they are enrolling

How you will learn

You'll learn through classroom activities, group discussions, and speaking and listening exercises with other learners. Assessment is through observed tasks and spoken activities that demonstrate your ability to communicate in English. There is no written exam for this Award. Your tutor will assess your speaking and listening skills during the course.
