To be eligible for funding for courses you must be over 19 years of age as at 31st August in the current academic year and not be an apprentice, further eligibility may be linked to where you live and we will check that at enrolment stage and may contact

  • You'll add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers.
  • You'll understand and use simple fractions in everyday contexts.
  • You'll read and interpret basic data, such as tables and charts.
  • You'll use simple measures including money, time, weight, and length.
  • You'll solve straightforward number problems in practical, real-life situations.

How you will learn

You'll learn through classroom-based sessions at Harrogate Civic Centre. Teaching covers number skills in practical, everyday contexts. Assessment is by a written test set and marked by City and Guilds. You'll need to pass the test to earn your certificate. Your tutor will prepare you for the test during the course.
