Free Entry Level 2 Functional Skills Maths in Ripon. Evening classes run at Ripon Community House Ripon, so you can fit study around work or other commitments. This entry level functional skills maths course runs over 18 weeks part-time. It covers number, measure, and handling data at Entry Level 2. To be eligible for funding for courses you must be over 19 years of age as at 31st August in the current academic year and not be an apprentice, further eligibility may be linked to where you live and we will check that at enrolment stage and may contact
What you will learn
You'll work with whole numbers, including counting, ordering, and simple calculations.
You'll add and subtract using everyday contexts such as money and time.
You'll recognise and use simple fractions and percentages in practical situations.
You'll read and interpret basic charts, tables, and graphs.
You'll use simple measures including length, weight, capacity, and temperature.
You'll solve straightforward maths problems using the skills above.
How you will learn
You'll learn in a classroom at Ripon Community House Ripon during evening sessions. Assessment is through a written test set and marked by City and Guilds. You'll need to pass both a non-calculator and a calculator section to achieve the qualification. Your tutor will work through topics with you in class and give you practice tasks to build your skills before the assessment.
