About this course

Free Entry Level 2 Functional Skills Maths. Study online. You work through the course at your own pace, fitting study around your life. The course covers numbers, basic calculations, measures, shapes, and handling data, with a focus on everyday situations like budgeting and planning. It runs over 16 weeks, with online study sessions plus independent work. Note: the final exam takes place in person at Elatt's centre. You'll start with an initial assessment so the right level is confirmed before you begin.

Who this course is for

We teach functional maths skills for vocational learners at all Entry Levels, and Level 1 and 2. Courses are tied to the functional skills syllabus and address the key numerical skills needed for daily life including: Numbers and number systems, Shape, space and measure and Handling data.

Courses are delivered online, however at the end of the programme, learners are required to attend a face-to-face exam at ELATT.

What you will learn

  • You'll work with whole numbers, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • You'll use simple fractions, decimals, and percentages in practical contexts.
  • You'll recognise and apply common measures including time, money, weight, and distance.

  • You'll collect, read, and present simple data using charts and tables.
  • You'll solve practical problems such as shopping, budgeting, and journey planning.

How you will learn

You study online, working through material covering numbers, measures, shape and space, and handling data. Sessions are structured around the Functional Skills syllabus. At the end of the programme, you sit a formal exam in person at Elatt's centre. The initial assessment at the start helps confirm Entry Level 2 is the right starting point and shapes your learning plan.
