About this course

Free Entry Level 2 Functional Skills English in Northallerton. Evening classes run at Skipton Adult Learning & Skills Service, so you can fit study around work or other commitments. Entry requirements

To be eligible for funding for courses you must be over 19 years of age as at 31st August in the current academic year and not be an apprentice, further eligibility may be linked to where you live and we will check that at enrolment stage and may contact

What you will learn

  • You'll read and understand everyday texts such as letters, forms, and notices.
  • You'll write clearly for simple everyday purposes, including notes and short messages.
  • You'll spell common words and use basic punctuation correctly.
  • You'll listen and respond to straightforward spoken information.
  • You'll speak clearly to communicate simple information to others.

How you will learn

You'll learn in a classroom at Skipton Adult Learning & Skills Service through tutor-led sessions and practical activities. Assessment is through tasks set by City and Guilds, covering reading, writing, speaking, and listening. You'll complete an initial assessment at the start so the centre can confirm Entry Level 2 is the right level for you and plan your learning accordingly.
