AAT Level 2 Certificate Accounting Course in Leicester. Classes run at Leicester College City Skills Centre, part-time during the day. The course runs over 36 weeks, giving you a manageable pace to fit study around other commitments. You'll cover the core principles of accounting, from double-entry bookkeeping to basic costing and payroll. To enrol, you'll normally need four GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including English and maths. Leicester College City Skills Centre will consider applicants aged 19 or over who don't hold formal English and maths qualifications. Completing the course earns you the AAT Level 2 Certificate in Accounting.

Entry requirements

To enrol onto this course you will need four GCSEs at Grade 4 (C) or above including English and maths are required for this course. You will also need to provide one reference which can be provided by your employer or previous education establishment. It is desirable that you can demonstrate 90% attendance.

Consideration will be given to all applicants over the age of 19, who do not hold formal English and maths qualifications.

How you will learn

You'll study in a classroom at Leicester College City Skills Centre, with tutor-led sessions throughout the 36 weeks. Assessment is through a combination of computer-based exams set by AAT. Each unit is assessed separately, so you build and demonstrate your knowledge as you go. Your tutor will guide you through the syllabus and help you prepare for each assessment.

The centre will provide most materials. Leicester College City Skills Centre will confirm anything else you need before you start. Note that a material fee of £210 applies in addition to the annual tuition fee, which may cover course materials and resources.
